WVDOH Updates “Dig Once” Policy Guide for 2021

The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) has updated guidance to implementing the State’s Dig Once Policy Act.  The Dig Once Application Submission Checklist is now available. The policy guide was done with input from the West Virginia Broadband Enhancement Council to assist DOH district offices in the submission, processing and enforcement of permit applications from companies seeking to install, extend, expand or upgrade existing longitudinal fiber optic permits or wireless telecommunications facilities within the WVDOH rights-of-way. The WVDOH District Offices are also sharing this information with the carriers and companies in each district. The Legislature instituted a Dig Once policy with the passage of House Bill 4447 during the 2018 Legislative session.
