Deadline to participate in ReConnect Program approaches

The deadline to participate in the inaugural ReConnect Pilot Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development, is quickly approaching.

The ReConnect Program was announced in December 2018 after the U.S. Congress made $600 million available to the USDA to expand broadband infrastructure and services in rural America. The deadline to apply to this three-tiered program has already passed for the grant and grant-and-loan programs. The deadline to apply for the low interest loan program is July 12, 2019. Approximately $200 million was dedicated to each of the three programs. The Loan-Only applications still being accepted through the USDA. Congress has approved funding to administer this program again in 2020.
