WV Secretary of State Offers Mobile Voting App

West Virginia Secretary of State officials have announce a mobile app that will allow West Virginia residents stationed or living overseas to vote in the November election on their cell phone or mobile tablet. Secretary of State Mac Warner unveiled the application at a September press conference.  The app was developed in partnership with Tusk Montgomery Philanthropies and Voatz Inc. and is designed to improve the voting process for military personnel deployed to remote areas and state residents living overseas areas that lack reliable postal service or other available electronic voting methods  which required access to a printer, scanner or fax machine.

Secretary of State officials said West Virginia is one of the first states in the nation to offer a mobile voting application. This mobile application was used on a trial basis during the May primary voting period and since then, 24 county clerk offices have signed up to offer the applications to residents in their respective counties living overseas.
